CORE VACCINES FOR DOGS & CATS

Our mission at Snake River Animal Shelter is to prevent unwanted litters, save lives, and ensure that all companion animals have the opportunity to live long, healthy lives. We also believe that vaccines help prevent death from disease.

Spay & Neuter Program:

  • All spay and neuter procedures are performed by appointment only and paid for in advance at the time your appointment is booked on our online portal.

  • Your pet must be in good health, at least 2 months of age, and at least 2 lbs. in weight to be spayed/neutered.

  • You must agree to us implanting a free microchip if your pet doesn’t have one.

  • We do not perform spay or neuter surgeries on French or English Bulldogs.

  • If you’d like our veterinarian to consider altering your pet through our program and they are 8 years or older, please call us at 208-523-4219 for consideration.

  • Dogs over 75 lbs. and who are cryptorchid or in heat will have an additional fee for their spay or neuter.

  • If you have a litter of puppies or kittens, you’d like spayed/neutered, please contact us at 208-523-4219 to inquire about a litter discount.

  • There are NO REFUNDS. We understand that emergencies do occur and will reasonably reschedule your appointment upon request one further time.

Vaccine Program:

  • Dog and cat vaccines are available by appointment only through our veterinary services site.

  • If all you need is a free microchip, you may walk in at any time (no appointment needed).

HUMANE EUTHANASIA SERVICES

Snake River Animal Shelter provides humane euthanasia services for pets whose owner cannot afford a traditional vet experience.

If you have a confirmed fatal/severe diagnosis from your veterinarian, we encourage you to utilize their euthanasia services.

Euthanasia requests will be read and followed up on as soon as possible, but we encourage you to follow up by calling us at 208-523-4219.

  1. Euthanasia request approvals are solely up to our veterinarian and may be denied at her discretion.
  2. Each euthanasia is performed without the owner present, due to our time and space constraints.
  3. Owners may take their pet back after euthanasia (we do not provide cremation services) and all pets over 40 lbs. must be taken back by their owner after euthanasia, as we do not have proper storage space.
  4. We cannot provide cremation services. Please plan accordingly.
  5. Owners are encouraged to say goodbye to their beloved pet prior to arriving at the facility.
  6. Cost: $50
