Adoption Program

To ensure that animals find permanent, loving, responsible homes, the staff at the Snake River Animal Shelter will spend time getting to know the potential adopters. We want the best match for the animals and humans involved. All applicants will be asked to complete an Adoption Application to help place the animal in a forever home that is compatible with its needs. If applicants, looking for a dog, already have a dog(s) or children, it is mandatory for the potential adopter to bring their dog into our facility for a meet-and-greet between the dogs before the adoption is finalized.

If the adoption is not a good fit or is not working out for some reason, the adopted pet may be returned to the Snake River Animal Shelter within 30 days from the date of adoption by the original adopter. Sorry, no refunds or gift certificates will be given. Please call 208-523-4219 to arrange your return.
