The Snake River Animal Shelter’s Sporting Clays Benefit shoot went off with a bang Saturday, June 19. This is the second Sporting Clays Benefit shoot for the SRAS and it was a hit again! (OK, no more puns.) This year, the event was held in conjunction with Holy Rosary Bi-Parish School.
Major sponsors for this event were Toyota (corporate), Teton Toyota, and North Wind. Waddell and Reed, Sandhill Media, OK Trailers, Rexburg Motor Sports, the Military Affairs Committee, and US Bank and were also sponsors and brought many shooters to the event.
The weather was gorgeous and sunny and the 46 shooters in attendance seemed to be having a blast. There were 19 wonderful raffle prizes generously donated by SRAS Board Members, Sandhill Media, Waddell and Reed, and Ski’s House of Guns. Lunch was a delicious meal of marinated and barbecued tri-tip roast, salad, green beans, roasted red potatoes and brownies with ice cream for dessert. Yum! Activities were brought to a close with a grand finale of drawings for two very nice guns – a 28 gauge shotgun and a .22 rifle.
The Big Dog Raffle tickets were selling quickly and there were many shooters who visited the SRAS display and wanted to learn more about the project and programs.
In sum, it was a truly nice and productive day, filled with fun shooting activities, great food, exciting prizes and new supporters of the SRAS!
