Clair E. Gale Jr. High Students Raise Money and Awareness for Snake River Animal Shelter
Remember those clubs you were involved with when you were in school; Latin club, speech club and the like? The only thing I remember is that we didn’t really do very much in them except sit round and talk. But that is not true for Clair E. Gale Jr. High’s Snake River Animal Shelter Club. Under the guidance of their club sponsor, Mrs. Margie Kennedy, not only do they talk the talk, they walk the walk! This group works hard to promote the mission of the Snake River Animal Shelter. They do that by teaching the importance of Spay/Neuter to their peers and working to raise money to help build the shelter. The creative bulletin board they’ve put together teaches students about the animal overpopulation problem we have in eastern Idaho, the importance of spaying and neutering pets, and the importance of finding loving permanent homes for shelter animals. On Career Day, March 26, 2010 they presented a $681.77 check to Snake River Animal Shelter. They raised the money by selling donuts and candy at lunch for two weeks.
Home Educator, Angela Schwindt once said, “While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about.” The Snake River Animal Shelter Club proves this to be true with their spirit, generosity and passion to promote the Snake River Animal Shelter mission.
