A Snake River Animal Shelter press conference was held on Thursday, June 11, 2009, at 10:00 a.m., in the Bannock Room at the Red Lion Hotel on the Falls, located at 475 River Parkway, Idaho Falls.
Lane Allgood was the MC of the event and introduced all the dignitaries. Idaho Falls Mayor Jared Fuhriman joined Sylvia Medina, Snake River Animal Shelter (SRAS) Board President, Susan Hulse, Executive Director for SRAS, Deb Coleman, President of the Humane Society of the Upper Valley, representatives from U.S. Senator Crapo, U.S. Senator Risch, Congressman Simpson, along with City Council members and staff from the Idaho Falls Police Department Animal Control Division, announced the launching of the $2.5 million Capital Campaign dedicated to the design and construction of the proposed 7,200 sq. ft. animal shelter facility here in Idaho Falls.
The new local newspapers and the three television stations were all in attendance along with over 75 supporters!
